Making fragrant incense at home can be a simple and fun task. Here's how to make a simple scented incense at home, which not only smells amazing, but also induces positive changes on a physical and emotional level thanks to the therapeutic-grade essential oils it contains.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of wood powder (choose a wood that you like the smell of) Palo santo, Guaiacwood, Cedarwood, Oudh, and more
- 1/4 cup spicy, aromatic ingredients of your choice
- 1/8 cup resins or balsams
- Now here's the twist. If you add a lot of resinous ingredients you need more Makko powder, if you add more dry ingredients you need less Makko powder (the Makko powder is what makes the incense burn)
- 1/4 cup of water, but add slowly at the beginning so you don't add too much
- 10-15 drops of essential oil (choose the scent you like) here you can choose (dont panic, you can set the language :))
- A large glass beaker or a small bowl
Preparation:
- Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
- Add the water and mix the mixture with a whisk or spoon until smooth.
- Add 10-15 drops of essential oil and mix thoroughly. (You can increase the amount if you want a more intense fragrance.) When I write essential oil, I mean the ultra pure essences of doTERRA)
- Shape into sticks and cones.
Let the mass dry until it hardens. This can be about 72 hours, but the drying time may vary depending on weather conditions and the thickness of the paste.
Once the paste is completely dry, place the incense in the appropriate holder.
Light a match and place it on top of the incense. Wait a second or two and then extinguish the flame. The incense will start to glow and begin to release its fragrance.
Attention! Always proceed with caution when using an open flame.
